I dreamed a dream,
That one day you would be mine.
I dreamed a dream,
That one day you would say you love me.
I dreamed a dream,
That one day you would wrap your arms around me.
I dreamed a dream,
That one day I would kiss your sweet face.
I dreamed a dream,
That one day you would never leave me.
I dreamed a dream,
That one day we would be happy.
I dreamed a dream,
That one day every dream would be mine.

*** I used today's prompt from NaPoWriMo. Today's prompt involved using an anaphora. An anaphora is a literary term for the practice of repeating certain
words or phrases at the beginning of multiple clauses or, in the case
of a poem, multiple lines. In this poem, I repeated the line "I dreamed a dream" as well as the clause "that one day". ***
